Meet our sponsor: Ink Garden for customized printing

InkGardenI'm so excited to introduce one of our new sponsors to you, Ink Garden customized printing.

Ink Garden promises "stylish designs you customize," and it holds true. Looking around the site, I was struck by how chic the designs were — and how many varieties there were! You can tell the company takes design seriously, because every item is tagged with the graphic artist's name and bio.

Here's just a small sampling of my favorite products:

Birthday greeting cards & invitations.

Cards & invitations for baby showers, bridal showers, weddings, graduations, and other special occasions.

Christmas, Hannukah, and other holiday greetings. Use the provided designs, or customize with your own family photos.

Cards for other holidays to show off your cute kids or announce a new arrival.

Customizable gifts, like mugs, travel mugs, fleece blankets, mouse pads, and more.

Placemats & coasters! How fun to have each of your kids' places set with their cute faces!

Business cards and stationery (for a family business, a blog, or an Etsy shop, for instance) sure to set your style ahead of the competition's.

I was privileged to interview Ed from Ink Garden to learn a little more about the company's background and philosophy.

1. What's the background story on Ink Garden — why did it start, and how is it unique?

When we wanted to create personalized gifts, we visited all of the printing sites on the web, but just ended up downright frustrated. We found that 'customize' almost always meant that we could change the text and that was it. But we wanted a design that was just perfect and we don't think we're alone. So we made it our mission to create a site where the customer is in the driver's seat — where if you want to change the colors, move things around, add photos or embellishments, you can do so. Ink Garden's designs are made in layers so each element can truly be customized with different backgrounds, clip art or your own photos. And our editing tools are really easy to use so you can take your creation to the next level in minutes with a design that reflects your personality, style or brand. Our products are high quality, reasonably priced, and can be purchased in small quantities.

2. How do you try to keep your printing eco-friendly?

All of our papers are FSC Certified (you can read about this at Forest Stewardship Council). Of the six papers you can choose from, three of them contain 30% post consumer waste and two of them contain 10% post consumer waste.

3. Why should people still send printed cards and announcements instead of digital?

No doubt, there are times when a digital announcement makes the most sense. However, for special events, customized printed cards add a touch of class and create a lasting memory that will be kept much longer than a digital announcement. In fact, for some events you might want to do both. We also offer other customized items that can make an event special, including banners, trays, plates, mugs and shirts – all of which will make keepsakes that will last much longer than the actual event.

4. What are your favorite products for parents?

Obviously we have cards or birth announcements, birthday invitations, and cards for religious events. But some of the more unique items that kids will really love and use time and time again are customized plates and placemats. Also, items such as mugs that include a child’s photo will be cherished by grandparents and other family members.

I hope you click over to Ink Garden and see what they have to offer!
